2011, you say? But this is 2012! Well, there was a lot to do at Alpheus Media in 2011, so we're just getting around to posting about our Fall 2011 interns. Thanks, to Vashti, Mary, and Chris! Where did you grow up?
I grew up in McAllen, Texas. RGV represent!
What got you interested in interning at Alpheus Media?
Just from first impression, I like the fact that it’s a small company that works on projects that they believe in. They have really moving stories, so it’s really inspiring.
Tell us about some of your hobbies, or passions that are not necessarily 'marketable skills'. (examples: Crossword puzzles? Hiking? Work with clay? Collect obscure records? Write poetry?)
I can whistle really well! Does that count? Haha, I don’t know I love to whistle. But really also, I’m interested in anything that deals with creativity. Photography, playing my ukulele, singing (karaoke style, I’m no pro), painting and decorating are just some of the few things I enjoy doing.
What's the worst job you ever had?
I really can’t complain in terms of jobs. I’m just happy to get paid! Of course, being a hostess is not the ideal thing that I want to do…

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Fall, and Amelie.
The worst film you ever saw?
Twilight? I’ve probably seen worse, but that’s the only thing that comes to my mind right now.
Have you ever been a conspiracy theorist?
Why? Is there something going on here?
Most embarrassing musical group you've ever liked? (It's okay - we won't tell anyone.)
But it’s going on the blog..haha! Hmm, S Club 7 or A*Teens? Pshh I’m not embarrassed. I loved that stuff as a kid!
What's your favorite book?
My childhood self screams Harry Potter! I also enjoy many of Jane Austen’s books.
What do you do when you're not at Alpheus Media?
Cry because I miss Melinda! Just kidding. The usual college student stuff -school, spend time with family and friends, play! Continue to learn and mature, but try to have fun as well.
What's a favorite quote from a famous or non-famous person?
"Study like a fool, but dream like a genius." Or "The bigger your dreams are, the better. So even if your dream breaks, the broken pieces will also remain big."

Fozzie! Waka waka! Have you seen the new Muppets movie yet? If not, you should! It’s great!

Where did you grow up?
Well, I started growing in a little town called Magnolia, but I didn’t stop until years after I moved to Houston.
What got you interested in interning at Alpheus Media?
Initially, the great films on the website; but, after further investigation, the local atmosphere that promised a very hands-on learning experience.
Tell us about some of your hobbies, or passions that are not necessarily 'marketable skills'.
Writing is a primary passion, although, for my sake, I hope it’s somewhat marketable. Other activities include, but are not limited to: reading, playing video games, and the occasional dabbling into the fantasy realm of Dungeons & Dragons…that’s still popular, right?
What's the worst job you ever had?
I once worked as a freelance Furniture Assembler for larger retailers like Office Max and Office Depot. Pay was doled out based on pieces assembled, and it turned out I wasn’t very good.

It’s actually a tie between Limp Bizkit and Ricky Martin

Depends on what I’m reading that week…As of now, it is Stephen King’s On Writing

Wear the Alpheus Media company t-shirt and encourage my friends to intern there.

Which one of the Muppet characters is your favorite? Why?
Big Bird, because he was always so encouraging when I was younger, and never judgmental. Besides, he was my first toy, so that scores him some bonus points.
